Boughey relishing overseas assignments

Libertango, Survie and Hopewell Rock have major targets in the coming weeks.
George Boughey reports Libertango to be in “outstanding form” ahead of her upcoming trip to the Breeders’ Cup.
The daughter of No Nay Never has been a model of consistency throughout her juvenile campaign so far, winning three of her five starts including the Albany at Royal Ascot and the Lowther Stakes at York, as well as finishing second in the Duchess of Cambridge and Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.
She will drop back slightly in trip to five and a half furlongs for the Juvenile Turf Sprint at Keeneland on October 30 and while plenty of water has passed under the bridge since she kicked off her campaign at Leicester in May, Boughey is confident she is still firing on all cylinders.
“I couldn’t be any happier with her. She’s done a couple of bits of work since the Cheveley Park and she’s in outstanding form,” said the Newmarket handler.
Libertango will be joined in Kentucky by stablemate Survie, who has already won twice on American soil at Saratoga this year, including a Grade One success in the Christophe Clement Turf Stakes, earning her a shot at the Breeders’ Cup Turf.
After saddling his two runners Stateside, Boughey will be heading to Australia to see his Ebor runner-up Hopewell Rock tackle the Melbourne Cup and he is quietly confident about his chances of going close in the Flemington showpiece on November 3.
“Hopewell Rock has shipped down there in great form and I think he’s off a beautiful weight with Zac Lloyd booked to ride,” Boughey added.
“Zac rode a winner for us at Royal Ascot (Moonfall in Britannia Stakes) and I couldn’t be more happy with how he’s got down there.
“With Survie going to the Breeders’ Cup as well, they are three exciting runners around the world for us.”
