Precautionary inspection called for Newbury on Friday
Storm Austen could cause problems for Berkshire track.
The threat of the first named storm of the winter months has led to a precautionary inspection being called for the Flat meeting at Newbury on Friday.
Ground conditions were described as soft, good to soft in places on Wednesday morning, but as Storm Austen moves in more rain is due, with 15-30 millimetres forecast from 8pm on Thursday through to after racing on Friday, together with strong winds.
With that in mind officials will check conditions at 8am on raceday morning.
