Local woman Amanda Walker won the 2025 Amelia Earhart Prize for female artists of Ireland sponsored by Greater Shantallow Community Arts in partnership with City of Derry Airport. The themes for the prize of were female achievement, aspiration, aviation, and flight. Amanda received her prize from Mayor Ruairí McHugh and City of Derry Airport CEO Fraser.
