The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Ruairí McHugh pictured with textile designer Sue Bamford and participants at the 'Transforming Textile Waste Workshop' held at Irish Street Community Centre on Tuesday.
The event took place during European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) - a time to raise awareness across Europe and particularly locally about sustainable resource and waste management.
This year’s theme is Waste Electronic and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the campaign is supported by Derry City and Strabane District Council. During the workshop Sue encouraged participants to rethink pre-loved items and showcase the impact of visible mending.
Included in the images are Lynn Donnell, Irish Street Community Centre and Yvonne Lecky, DCSDC.
