IN PICTURES: Older people come together for Derry Christmas Dance at Ebrington Hotel

Residents enjoyed a brilliant evening of celebration, dancing, and Christmas cheer at a special Christmas Dance held at the Ebrington Hotel. The event was co-organised by the Bogside & Brandywell Health Forum and the Old Library Trust/Healthy Living Centre, providing a vibrant social evening for the community ahead of the festive season.

Guests were treated to a lovely meal, followed by ballroom dancing with Bobby, Aisling, Moya and Davy, a great performance from the OLT HLC line dancers, and fantastic live music from Micky Doherty, Meabh Coyle and Clara Hutton. Deputy Mayor of Derry & Strabane, Alderman Niree McMorris, was also in attendance and joined in on the celebrations, highlighting local government support for community engagement initiatives.

A spokesperson for the organisers expressed gratitude to everyone who attended: Thanks to everyone who came along and to the staff at The Ebrington Hotel for hosting an absolutely fantastic evening and bringing Christmas cheer to hundreds of people. We’re wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!"

The event was part of the ongoing Loving Life, Living Longer programme, which is made possible through vital funding from the National Lottery.
