A selection of the candidates for East Derry.
Kathleen McGurk (Sinn Féin)
This is Kathleen McGurk's first Assembly election, and one where she succeeds party colleague Cathal Ó hOisín to become running mate for Caoimhe Archibald.
The Feeny native has served as a councillor on Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council since her election in 2019, where she was elected to the Benbradagh ward with 677 votes.
Sinn Féin have never managed to secure a second Assembly seat in East Derry, but McGurk has proved a strong influence for the party at local government level.
