The pattern of collies being surrendered to the pound or being abandoned is sadly continuing. Of the eight dogs available for rehoming, five are collies, ranging in age from eight months to two years.

There is also a two-year-old Australian Sheltie, A Staffie Cross also aged two, and a four-year-old Terrier Cross.

A spokesperson said: “If you are interested in rehoming any of these dogs, please call the Dog Shelter at 074 91 25159 between 10.30am and 1.30pm, Monday to Saturday.

“We are unable to deal with enquiries via social media.”

Please note the reference numbers which are included in the caption of each photograph.
