In pictures: Redcastle's New Year’s Day swim in memory of brave Adrian Harkin

Adrian, a Derry native who lived in Moville, passed away from motor neurone disease in July, aged 54, and the proceeds of the New Year's Day swim at Redcastle will be donated to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association

Adrian, a Derry native who lived in Moville, passed away from motor neurone disease in July, aged 54. A keen adventurer, he once owned Inish Adventures and a fundraising drive in for form of the Summit 2 Sea charity challenge last year saw over €70,000 for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, which was also the benefitting charity of the New Year swim. Adrian was married to Sharon and father of Kayleigh and Jessica and dear stepfather of Ryan and Leanne.
