The Hills Behind Rossnowlagh Heritage Walk

Rossnowlagh Ramblers group and archaeologist Franc Myles offer the opportunity to explore the history of human settlement in the hilly landscapes that dominate Rossnowlagh Beach.

Meeting at Coolmore Car Park at 10am, the group will walk the quieter backroads of Coolbeg, Cashel, Rosscat and Killinangle, exploring the drumlins, ridges, and fields which maintain archaeological monuments from pre-historic tombs, to large hillforts, and the cutting of the railway in 1905.

The walk will take approximately three hours, and light refreshments will be provided by the Rossnowlagh Ramblers after the event.

For more information, contact Franc Myles at francmyles@abh.ie or call 086 8537281.
