Disert Archaeological Excavations 2019-2024

The Bluestack Centre will host an evening presentation from Dr Fiona Beglane of ATU and the Disart Heritage Group, allowing visitors to find out about the archaeological excavations that took place at Disart between 2019 and 2024, followed by traditional music by Raphael Meehan and Friends.

Disert is a ritual pilgrimage landscape in the parish of Inver, and incorportates early ecclesiastical enclosures, penitential cairns, a holy well dedicated to St Colmcille, a post-medieval altar, and a children's graveyard.

St Colmcille reportedly founded Disart in the sixth century, and the location is still important for religious devotion today.

The event is free and runs from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
