GALLERY: Part Two: A photographic tour of Donegal - through the lens of lockdown

This is the second part of Barry McNulty's fantastic series

Faugher House: Faugher House, or O'Boyle's Castle, was built in 1611 near Portnablagh and belonged to Tirlagh Roe O'Boyle, who was granted the land after the plantation of Ulster. But O'Boyle had to later forfeit the house in 1642 after a failed rebellion. During the rebellion, a 32 gun Spanish frigate, the St Francis, with 100 Irish veterans of the Spanish army led by Eoghan Roe O'Neill anchored off Doe Castle, as O'Boyle was one of the local chieftains who supported Eoghan Roe. The building has been abandoned since the mid 1800.
