The theme for Athy’s 2026 St. Patrick’s Day parade in Co Kildare was Community Spirit, celebrating the people who made Athy the welcoming place it is.
The Grand Marshal for 2026 was Frank Taaffe in recognition of his “outstanding community spirit and the profound lasting contribution he has made to Athy over many years”.
“His dedication, generosity and unwavering commitment to the town have enriched countless lives and strengthened the community in immeasurable ways,” organisers added.
Athy Town Promoters, who organised the annual event, delivered a day full of festive celebrations for people of all ages to enjoy.
