What could be better than celebrating our new bank holiday with a walk or a run in the Castle Park? How about a walk or a run which will raise money for charity?
Friday, March 18 will see the Castle Park play host to the 5K for Cois Nore. This event is a fantastic opportunity to get family and friends out to run, walk or stroll 5km in Kilkenny’s Castle Park. Part of the St Patrick’s Festival the run, which starts at 11am and is assisted by the Kilkenny City Harriers Athletics Club, is open to people of all ages and abilities.
As well as helping the Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre, you could nab a beautiful free t-shirt designed by Cartoon Saloon - but be quick! The shirts will go to the first 200 entrants. Sign up at popupraces.ie. For more see coisnore.ie/5k/
Dr Bill Cuddihy, Chairman of Cois Nore and Brian Cody, Patron of Cois Nore are urging people to take part.
"The aims of the event are to raise much needed funds to provide our cancer support services, to let people know where we are, how to contact us, and what we do and to acknowledge our fantastic volunteers across the county and to encourage new volunteers to join us," says Dr Cuddihy.
Venue: Kilkenny Castle Park. Start Time: 11am. Pricing: Adult €25 + booking fee, U16 €15 + booking fee. Visit https://coisnore.ie/5k/ for more details.
