Laois Fianna Fáil Cllr Seamus McDonald was given a special reception at reaching 40 years of continued service as an elected member of Laois Council Council this week. Cllr McDonald from Rosenallis, first elected in 1985 and winning in every local election since, was described by Cllr John King as "a Rolls Royce - silent all the time and will go on forever". His family, neighbours and friends and Laois Fianna Fáil TD Sean Fleming, former MEP Liam Hyland and former Minister of State John Moloney, all attended the reception.
