There was a great turnout for Laois' first-ever Toy Swap which was held in St Mary Hall in Portlaoise on Saturday, 20 December.

Families from across the county attended the event, which was supported by Laois County Council, to exchange pre-loved toys and give them a new lease of life just before Christmas.

The event encouraged local families to exchange pre-loved toys and help reduce waste while easing some of the financial pressures of Christmas. By reusing toys already in circulation, the swap offered children the excitement of something new without the expense or environmental impact of buying new items.

Photographer Michael Scully went along to the event and captured all the fun on camera.

Organisers of the Toy Swap, members of Laois County Council's Climate Action team Anne Marie Curtin (Assistant Co-ordinator) and Anne Lennon (Climate Action officer).
