There were great efforts made by volunteers and Laois County Council staff who took part in litter picking campaigns across the county for Clean Up Laois Week 2026.
Groups and communities were encouraged to register with the Laois County Council Environment Section to receive free packs of bags, gloves and litter pickers to help tackle rubbish in their local areas during the clean up week which ran from April 13 to 17.
Laois County Council staff were among those who took part in the week's clean up activities. Council staff conducted litter picks in The Derries, Clonenagh, and Clonminam.
Other litter picks took place across the county such as in Portlaoise, Mountmellick, Camross and Durrow.
