WATCH: First look at gripping new Netflix drama starring Carlow actress Lily Ella Hyland

Hyland stars alongside Keira Knightly and Sarah Lancashire

Set against the backdrop of London at Christmas, Black Doves is a sharp, action-filled, and heartfelt story of friendship and sacrifice as it follows Helen Webb (Keira Knightley), a quick-witted, down-to-earth, dedicated wife and mother — and professional spy.

Carlow actress Lily Ella Hyland, who has starred in Fifteen Love and Silent Roar, stars as Williamsa freelance assassin. Williams might seem cold and cynical, yet she has an innocent heart which is at odds with the world she’s a part of.

Ella Lily Hyland commented,

“She's dark and menacing, but also very playful. A killer for hire and quite a mad character. Quirky and fun and curious and provocative – she loves winding people up.

“She's also meticulous about her job, having probably started doing it when she was a teenager. It’s all she knows. She doesn't really get how to be a normal person and she's not very in touch with her empathy. She's very far away from anyone I know!"

The six-part TV series launches on December 5.
