Newly re-elected Liam Blaney (FF) has stated he was not fazed by missing the quota by just 7 votes.
Councillor Blaney retained his seat on Donegal County Council after achieving 2,051 votes in five counts, 1,563 of which were first preference votes.
The councillor just missed out on the quota of 2,058, however reaching the quota was not needed as there were no further surplus votes to distribute.
He told Donegal Live's reporter, Mary McFadden, he said the competition was "strong".
Pauric McGarvey (Ind) was also elected with 1,947 votes, approximately 110 away from the quota, completing the three seats from Milford LEA.
John O'Donnell pulled out of the race earlier during the count with a total of 1,671 votes by count five.
Meanwhile, newcomer Declan Meehan topped the polls in the LEA and was elected on the fourth count with a vote total of 2,074.
Sinn Féin's Maria Doherty finished in fourth place with 1,088 votes.
