Thunderous cheers could be heard around the Letterkenny count centre as Gerry McMonagle and Tomás Sean Devine were elected.
The duo were elected on the 10th count, with McMonagle receiving a huge vote distribution of over 500 from fellow Sinn Féin candidate Sandra Haughey.
At the time of the count, 100% Redress candidate Devine was just 9 votes away from surpassing the quota of 1,629.
McMonagle's progress throughout the day was slow and steady, while Devine was on track to be elected since the tallies which placed him in third position with 9.8% of first preference votes.
Donal 'Mandy' Kelly was elected on the first count earlier in the day, comfortably surpassing the surplus.
