Watch: 'Proud night' as Brian Carr elected for first time in Glenties

Carr was co-opted onto Donegal County Council ten weeks ago after Marie Therese Gallagher stepped down from her seat

Sinn Féin's Brian Carr was elected on the tenth and final count in the Glenties electoral area along with party member John Shéamais Ó Fearraigh and Denis McGee of 100% Redress. 

Ó Fearraigh, McGee and Carr got the nods on the distribution of Kellie Rodgers' 1,154 votes following her elimination on the ninth count. Carr collected 229 transfers to pass the quota.
