Watch: Donegal Town car park closure advisory due to high flood risk

Spring tides, storm surge and rainfall are combining to create a likelihood of flooding

With the evening tide almost at its peak, water is lapping over the pier into the car park in Donegal Town.

Spring tides, a storm surge and heavy rainfall coinciding over the next 24 hours have led a closure advisory being issued for the pier car park. 

Donegal County Council are advising that the car park is not to be used on: 

Wednesday, August 21 from 6.30pm to 9pm, with high tide at 7.52pm

Thursday, August 22 from 7am to 10am, with high tide at 8.21am

Thursday, August 22 from 7.40pm to 10pm, with high tide at 8.38pm

999 or 112 for the Fire Service
