Watch: Shotgun start as the Full Monte gets underway in Mountcharles

Around 100 competitors set off for the main event

And they're off! 100 runners are taking part in the Full Monte Challenge in Mountcharles.

Martin O'Boyle, race director gave a quick briefing ahead of the 8am start on Saturday morning. Mark Dorrian, MC wished the cyclists all the best while Lynn Temple provided a shotgun start.

The route includes running to the summit of Carnaween.

Events continue with the Half Monte and the Little Monte, making this a fantastic community day for people of all abilities.
