Daniel O'Donnell made a surprise visit to Geraldine McLaughlin and Shane Callaghan's wedding on Saturday, much to the delight of those in attendance.
Geraldine is famed for her football exploits, having lined out for Termon and Donegal with incredible success and Shane, who also lines out for the Burn Road club, kept the plan for Daniel's visit completely to himself, bar telling the wedding band they'd be sharing the stage with Daniel.
Geraldine and Shane are both massive country music fans in general - and fans of Daniel in particular - and exchanged their vows on Saturday at St Colmcille’s Church, Glendowan, with Fr Michael McKeever conducting the official duties.
Then, it was off to the Clanree Hotel to get the party started, with David Craig Band keeping the dancefloor moving at the reception before Daniel's cameo. Geraldine, Shane and their baby Sean joined Daniel on the stage.
"Congratulations, you're some operator," Daniel said to Shane. "I have never done this before! However, as the day drew close I knew I was home and it wasn't far to come out. So congratulations and good luck to you both. Many, many happy years together and have a great night. This night is about you!"
"We had an amazing night at the Clanree Hotel with Geraldine & Shane," David Craig Band posted, as they shared the video. "We had a very special guest appearance from the legend Mr Daniel O'Donnell surprising the couple and their guests! Only Shane and us knew this was happening, Geraldine was totally blown away!

"Daniel gave up his time freely in Christmas week to travel up and sing 5/6 songs and make their wedding day really special and as you'll hear if you listen to the end, he was so humble and happy to celebrate with the newlyweds. We'd love to have this shared far & wide as Daniel deserves continued recognition for the kindness that he has in abundance."
