Watch: Glenswilly €25K draw winner: 'What the hell! I thought that was months ago!'

Twenty-two-year-old Medical Science student Leeza Cunningham from Glencolmcille is due to start her exams at ATU Galway on Monday and was in tears as she learned she won the top prize of €25,000 in Glenswilly GAA Club Development Draw

The winner of the top prize in Saturday night's top prize of €25,000 in Glenswilly GAA Club Development Draw will have to shelve any plans for immediate celebrations.

Twenty-two-year-old Medical Science student Leeza Cunningham from Glencolmcille is due to start her exams at ATU Galway on Monday, and admitted she thought the draw she bought a ticket for took place "months ago."

Glenswilly launched the draw, which brought in €370,000 in ticket sales, back in June, and Leeza bought the ticket from Cormac Callaghan, who plays for the club's first team when she was on placement last year in the labs in Letterkenny University Hospital. Leeza plays with Naomh Columba and is a member of the Donegal LGFA senior panel.

Right after club treasurer David McHale and club solicitor Cathal Quinn gave the drum a last few spins, the draw was made, in the early hours of Sunday morning, with Leeza's being the name pulled out. Nadine Friel from Glenswilly called Leeza with the news, which she had already heard and admitted to being in tears, with Glenswilly GAA club photographer Geraldine Diver capturing the moment.

"Leeza, what's the craic? You're €25,000 richer - some lift" Nadine said. "You're going to have to be a bit nicer to us Glenswilly folk now! Good woman. Congratulations!". Leeza replied: "I know I've just seen. What the hell! I thought that was months ago!"
