Fifth class pupils from Scoil Bhríde, Milltown in County Kildare won't have any homework this Tuesday evening after they attended the first day of the National Ploughing Championships in County Laois.

Given the sunny conditions and the warm temperatures, the total attendance at this year's event could exceed 300,000 by the end of the three days.
