A brilliant-cut yellow diamond of 15.93 carats sold for an eye watering sum at Sheppard's Irish Auction House in Durrow.
Bidding on the diamond started at €200,000 and increased in increments of €10,000.
The diamond was sold by Shappard's in an auction which included the contents of movie director John Boorman's former Wicklow home.
