The Folly Festival is the place to be in Laois over the first weekend of July when Cullohill hosts a weekend of music, comedy, culture, food and family entertainment in the surrounds of Cullohill Castle on Friday and Saturday, July 5 - 6. Watch above to get a flavour of the event from 2022.
The Folly Festival is Ireland’s first-ever gender-balanced music festival. In selecting performers, the organisers say The Folly Festival actively promotes gender-balance, selecting the lineup accordingly, with an equal number of male and female acts.
All proceeds from the Folly Festival are used by the organisers Cullohill Community Council for village renewal projects along with donations to local schools, clubs and societies.
Music-wise there is a stellar lineup of headliners Darren Kiely and The Scratch alongside other firm favourites including Roísín O, Dea Matrona, Oscar Blue, Jessica Doolan, Saibh Skelly, Paddy Keyes, The Dooley Brothers, The Garda Band, Cullohill Comhaltas and recently announced Tullamore’s Best Foot Forward. The event MC is Doireann Ní Ghlacáin.
There's be a feast of food and lots of free entertainment for the family also.
The Folly Festival is brought to you by Cullohill Community Council with the support of Electric Picnic, Laois Partnership Company and Laois County Council.
