WATCH: Taoiseach Simon Harris turns sod at Laois Garda Station

The Taoiseach and Minister Helen McEntee were at Portlaoise Garda Station on November 1

Taoiseach Simon Harris and Minister for Justice Helen McEntee paid a visit to Laois on Friday morning to turn the sod for Portlaoise's new multi-million euro Garda station.

The pair were accompanied by Laois County Council Cathaoirleach Padraig Fleming, Minister of State Sean Fleming, Portlaoise Fine Gael Councillor William Aird, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris, and Minister of State Kieran O'Donnell.

The OPW completed a definitive project brief for the redevelopment of the Laois Offaly Garda HQ in Portlaoise in July 2024 for what is a three-year project has not started on time.
