WATCH: Laois commuters left stunned by unexpected surprise at train stations

Commuters at Portlaoise, Portarlington and Ballybrophy stations travel back in time!

Laois rail commuters were treated to a great surprise this past week, when a vintage steam engine travelled through Laois.

The vintage steam engine Loco 171 was travelling through Laois stations on its rail tour around the country.

Laois locals gathered to see the engine pass through Portlaoise, Portarlington and Ballybrophy, while commuters who were unaware of the tour watched on in surprised delight.

Portlaoise man Seán Cain captured this fantastic video of the steam engine passing through Portlaoise train station.

Steam engine enthusiasts across the country flocked to their nearest stations to catch a glimpse of the stunning piece of history.
