Leitrim runner Liam Cox is aiming to complete a mammoth feat of running the coastline of Ireland in aid of North West Stop.
Starting on Saturday August 23, Liam, who famously completed the 12 Marathons of Christmas on January 1, 2021, will begin his run from Carrick on Shannon incorporating North West Stop’s “Sunrise for STOP” event.
His first destination will be Strandhill and will continue clockwise around the coast of Ireland, aiming to finish back in Carrick on Shannon in early October. The challenge will involve running over 2,500km in total averaging over 60km per day.
Explaining his motivation, Liam says ““I am really excited to be able to raise funds for STOP again, having previously ran 12 marathons in 12 days during the Christmas of 2020. I have so much love and admiration for the people there and the work that they do!”
“I believe their services are really important in our region and I am really passionate about doing my bit to help raise as much funds as we can!”
North West Stop have been providing a free & confidential counselling service for anyone in need of support for almost 20 years in the North West region.
