A CROWD of 50,000 celebrated in the streets of Limerick city for the St Patrick's Day festivities.
Wearing green from head to toe, thousands of people gathered in the city centre for Limerick's St Patrick's Day Parade.
The "biggest ever" St Patrick's Day parade took place this Friday, March 17 from 12 to 2pm, and saw about 1,500 people marching down O'Connell Street for spectators.
From O’Connell Avenue, Roden Street Junction, the parade headed down to The Crescent, O’Connell Street, and then down Henry Street and ended at Rutland Street.
The festivities are not over as the 51st Limerick International Band Championship and plenty of family friendly activities will take place over the Bank Holiday weekend!
Along the route at the Crescent, a special autism friendly area is available for both parades, and will include a sensory room, covered marquee and seating area. Access to this area will be limited, with special wristbands being provided by ASD Ireland.
