THE rain didn't dampen the spirits in County Limerick this Friday as hundreds of people lined the main street in Kilfinane for the annual St Patrick's Day parade.
Despite the wintery conditions, children and adults alike could be seen enjoying green ice-cream cones as they watched the floats go by.
St Patrick himself led the parade participants through the village with local schools, GAA clubs and community groups following on behind.
There was a touching moment during proceedings when members of the Ukraine community in the locality made a speech and thanked locals for making them feel so welcome.
This was followed by a performance of a Ukrainian song which was met with rapturous applause and cheers.
The Ballyhoura Comhaltas Ceolteori Eireann got the crowd going with their lively dancing and Kilfinane Community Choir started a sing-song with their rendition of Ireland's Call.
For more on the Kilfinane parade, see next week's Limerick Leader newspaper. In shops on Wednesday.
