CROOM will be the place to be this bank-holiday weekend as it hosts Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh 2025.
The Castleconnell, Ahane, Herbertstown branch of Comhaltas has partnered with organisations such as Maigue Rivers Trust and Croom Community Development Association to ensure there is something on offer for everyone on Saturday and Sunday.
While the formal competitions will take place at Coláiste Chiaráin, a number of fringe events are planned for the village itself, including in Croom Town Park.
Commenting at the launch of this year's Fleadh, Pat Blackwell, Chairperson of Castleconnell, Ahane, Herbertstown CCE says it promises to be a great weekend.
"Picking the venue of the town of Croom was a very, very easy decision. The town itself, centrally located in the heart of our exceptionally beautiful county on the banks of the Maigue. Coláiste Chiaráin has been extremely accommodating in offering itself as the venue for the competitions. So with the support of the town of Croom, the people of the committee of CAHCCE and our sponsors and supporters - in media and in, say, local businesses - we're expecting that Fleadh Cheoil Luimnigh will be a fantastic event," he said.

On Sunday, June 1 Music on the Maigue will see a selection of artists perform and there will be traditional music on the patio, overlooking the playground in Croom Town Park.
“Music on the Maigue has given us terrific musical days in the past and we are all looking forward to this year's line up," said Ms Ryan.
There will be a Craft Market in Croom Town Park from 12pm to 3pm on Sunday while a Tractor Run will pass through the village around 3.30pm with funds collected going towards Milford Care Centre, the Jack and Jill Foundation and The Butterfly Club.
