WATCH | Ballinamuck Kickers and Mullahoran Dreadnoughts renew rivalry in North Longford and recreate famous match from 1898

Following yesterday's spectacular, memorable and historic Battle of Ballinamuck reenactment, today the committee of the 225th Anniversary Commemoration of 'The Battle of Ballinamuck' recreated a famous match between The Ballinamuck Kickers and The Mullahoran Dreadnoughts.

The match was originally played in 1898 some 100 years after The Battle of Ballinamuck.

It was subsequently recreated as part of its Bi-Centenary Commemoration in 1998, a day of sporting fun, pageantry and fun.

The teams for this year’s match are made up of Longford over 40s in conjunction with James Breslin and players from Fr Manning Gaels and players from Mullahoran GFC, with support of surrounding GAA clubs.
