A special tribute to the Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan by The Mary Wallopers was one of the highlights of the New Year's Eve annual celebration on BBC hosted by Jools Holland. The Dundalk band was joined by another Pogue Spider Stacey in a rousing version of Streams of Whiskey.
It was a show-stopping performance on the famous show by the Dundalk-founded folk outfit inspired by the Pogues.
The Mary Wallopers have been busy gigging in the UK during December and are off to tour Australia in 2024.
The Irish presence on the hugely popular annual show was bolstered by Muireann Bradley who stole the BBC show.
