1. Tipperary dancers have feet of flames as they lift major awards at world championships
Tipperary’s Irish Dancers had a great week with a number of wins in Canada. Two dancing schools excelled at the World Irish Dancing Championship in Montreal. Well done to the dancers from Flynn O’Kane Academy of Irish Dance and the Callanan McLoone O’Meara Academy of Irish Dance
2. Tipperary community care facility receives a positive report from Hiqa inspector
The Dean Maxwell nursing home in Roscrea was given a clean bill of health by Hiqa. The inspector said the facility was warm and bright and said the staff were kind. There were also two areas in need of improvement.
3. Construction of new Gaelscoil building in south Tipperary gets the green light
Education Minister, Norma Foley gave the go-ahead for the new building for Gaelscoil Charraig Na Siuire. TD Jackie Cahill welcomed the news and said it was a positive development for the locality.
4. A GREAT DAY FOR US: Uisce Éireann's €19m upgrade of waste water treatment schemes welcomed
Irish Water announced a €19m upgrade for the Newport and Ballina wastewater treatment schemes. The project is expected to improve water quality and accommodate more people living in the area. Ballina councillor Phyll Bulger thanked the local anglers for their work and said the project would give the area a chance to grow.
5.Two Tipperary businesses named as finalists in this year's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards
And finally, Two Tipperary businesses named as finalists in this year's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The Lunch Bag in Nenagh and Skanstec in Clonmel were chosen from 150 nominations nationwide. The results will be announced later this year.
