CALL TO REVIEW STAFFING FOR CITY SUNDAY BURIALS SERVICE

City Cllr Ollie Crowe is calling on the Department to review staff recruitment restrictions so that a seven day burial service can be restored.

Cllrs are due to be presented with a report on the options for operation of the service at a meeting of the city council this afternoon.

City officials had previously advised that the decision to cut Sunday burials was taken as the council was in breach of the Working Time Directive.

Cllr Crowe has viewed the report circulated by officials and says alternative staffing arrangements must be looked into including possible transfers.
