A city councillor says there's a pressing need for more frequent valuations on vacant sites.

Councillor Alan Cheevers says at the moment, it's only done every five years.

This, he argues, limits the revenue local authorities can generate from the vacant site levy.

Councillor Cheevers says valuations should be revised every year.
