Galway weather: Met Eireann forecast when rain stops as summer returns with 22C spike

High summer temperatures are returning but people will just have to wait that big longer
Met Eireann has forecast when summer is set to come back for the west with temperatures spiking at 22C leaving clear skies and more importantly no rain.
The first Monday and Tuesday of July will hit these highs with early forecasts indicating that we should see a return to the weather of last week.
Tuesday morning will see rain clearing early doors but sunny spells battling to get in between the scattered showers which could turn thundery with temperatures of 21C again.
Met Eireann said: “Our overview shows mixed weather with rain or showers at times. Some decent dry periods also. Highest temperatures ranging from the mid-high teens to low twenties.
“Tuesday night will be mainly dry with clear spells and just a few lingering showers near the north coast. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with light to moderate west to northwest breezes.”
They added: “Wednesday will start off dry. Rain and drizzle will develop in the west during the morning and spread eastwards through the afternoon in a freshening southerly wind, becoming persistent at times in the north, but light and patchy in the southeast. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees.”
“Thursday will be a bright day with sunny spells and some showers, these mainly in the north and northwest. Highest temperatures ranging from 15 degrees in the northwest to 21 degrees in the southeast with moderate west to northwesterly winds.”
Met Eireann continued: “Friday will be cloudy in the north and northwest with some rain and drizzle but should stay largely dry elsewhere with the best of hazy sunny spells in the southeast. High's of 16 to 22 degrees.
“Saturday looks like bringing the warmest weather to the south and southeast with temperatures in the low 20's. Rather cloudy at times elsewhere, with some light rain at times and temperatures in the mid to high teens. Currently Sunday looks to to be sunnier and a couple of degrees warmer in general.”
