Galway weather: Met Eireann weekend update as ‘third European heatwave coming’

One weather expert has said that the next one could even push our all time record temperature again
Met Eireann has issued its forecast for the upcoming weekend as one amateur expert is predicting a third European heatwave will hit this month.
Ireland’s Weather Channel - which has been first in the past for predicting big weather events like the Beast From The East and Storm Eowyn - states that the long term forecast shows very warm conditions for Ireland this month.
France is set to be rocked by another unbearable heatwave with the temperatures from that making their way over to us in a similar fashion to last week - possibly even pushing the all time temperature record again.
And one day to note for next week is Wednesday where Met Eireann is promising 26C as “the Azores high will have moved up over Ireland giving a dry day with plenty of sunshine”.
But for this weekend, things are looking a little cooler with temperatures between the high teens and low 20s but nestled in between a lot of cloud and drizzle.
Met Eireann say for Saturday: “A few bright or sunny spells are likely in the south and southeast, but it'll be mostly cloudy elsewhere.
“It'll be dry across the bulk of the country, though there'll be a little patchy light rain and drizzle in parts of Ulster and a drizzle too in Connacht, mainly in the west and north.
“There'll be a little mist and hill fog too in the northwest.
LA wide range in temperatures, with highs of just 15 to 18 degrees across parts of the north and west, but elsewhere ranging from 19 to 23 degrees, warmest under the brighter skies further to the south and southeast.“
For Sunday, they added: “Once again a few bright or sunny spells are likely in the south and southeast, while it'll continue mostly cloudy elsewhere.
“Dry for most, though with some light rain and drizzle and mist at times in Ulster, mainly further to the north and west and with the chance of a few spots of drizzle too in west and north Connacht.
“A similar temperature profile across the country as compared to Saturday, with highs of just 15 to 18 degrees across parts of the north and west, but elsewhere ranging from 19 to 24 degrees, warmest under the brighter skies further to the south and southeast.“
