Gardai investigating serious incident at Galway GAA club

The club fear those involved may repeat the offence if not caught soon
Gardai are investigating a serious incident that took place at a Galway GAA club over the weekend.
Tommy Larkins GAA club in Woodford confirmed that they have gotten gardai involved after a spate of vandalism and theft at their pitch.
They say that the act was not “random damage” and the club added that they fear the culprits may return to cause further vandalism if not caught.
The club said it was extremely disappointed to see their new facility targeted in this way.
A spokesperson for the club said: “This is important. We're disappointed to report that overnight our newly installed spectator fencing was vandalised, with around 70 bolts removed and stolen.
“This wasn't random damage, it involved someone deliberately removing fixings from the fencing.
“The theft of such a large number of bolts raises concerns that those responsible may return to cause further damage or attempt to remove sections of the fencing.”
They added: “We would ask everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to An Garda Síochána.
“It's incredibly disappointing to see a new community facility targeted in this way. We hope, with the support of the local community, we can prevent further incidents.”
