A Galway based company has been appointed to play a key role in the construction of what will be Ireland’s tallest building.

Building will soon get underway on the 30-storey Parkgate Pointe in Dublin which will be 102 metres in height delivering 562 apartments with a finish date of 2029.

Kilsaran, who has a precast facility in Oranmore, will be the principal precast and ready-mixed concrete supplier to John Paul Construction with nearly 100,000m² of precast flooring and walls needed for the build.

The development - which is located beside the River Liffey and opposite Heuston Station - is being delivered by the Land Development Agency (LDA) in partnership with Castlethorn with John Paul Construction appointed as the main contractors.

Under the contract, Kilsaran will manufacture, supply and install approximately 42,000m² of precast flooring, comprising hollowcore flooring and Omnia plate flooring systems and will also deliver approximately 55,000m² of twin-wall and solid-wall precast concrete.

Derek Duffy, Managing Director of Kilsaran Precast, said: “Parkgate Street is one of the most significant residential construction projects currently progressing in Ireland, and we are proud to have been appointed by John Paul Construction as its principal precast supplier.

“The scale, height and city-centre location of the development requires detailed planning and close coordination across manufacturing, logistics and installation. Our three precast production facilities will work together to manufacture and deliver approximately 97,000m² of flooring and wall systems for the project.

“Parkgate Pointe will become a defining feature of Dublin’s skyline, while the wider development will deliver 562 much-needed new homes in a highly accessible location. This appointment demonstrates Kilsaran’s capacity to support complex, large-scale construction projects through our manufacturing capability, technical expertise and experience in off-site construction.”

Construction on the Parkgate Street development is due to commence in the coming weeks, with completion forecast for late 2029. Kilsaran expects to begin manufacturing in March of 2027 with its work scheduled to continue until June 2028.

The development is being delivered through the LDA’s Project Tosaigh initiative, under which the agency partners with private homebuilders to finance and secure the construction of new homes. Once completed, the 562 apartments will be owned by the LDA.
