Met Eireann cancel weather warning as big change forecast for Ireland after storm passes

Conditions are going to be very hairy across today after the weather alert but a big change is on the way
After a wet, wild and windy night, Met Eireann has cancelled a weather warning that was in place for nine counties and is forecasting a much more brighter week ahead.
Sun is on the cards for Wednesday and Thursday after the status yellow wind alert for Galway, Carlow, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow stopped at midnight.
The same warning is still in place for Mayo and Donegal until 12pm with all of the above counties being hit with widespread showers and thunderstorms across Tuesday even with the possibility of hail.
Temperatures of 12C will drop to single figures in the nighttime but will become dry and clear with rain only hitting northern areas.
Here’s how the rest of the weather is shaping up for the week according to Met Eireann:
Wednesday: “Tomorrow morning will start mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain in the north and well scattered showers in other areas. From late morning onwards it'll be largely dry with just isolated showers and some sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds in the morning, decreasing light to moderate and becoming southerly later. Apart from isolated light showers, it'll be dry and partly cloudy on Wednesday night. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light to moderate southerly winds.”
Thursday: “Mostly cloudy on Thursday with isolated patches of light rain or drizzle. The best of any sunny spells will likely be in the east and northeast. During the evening, more persistent rain or drizzle will move into the southwest and west. It'll become breezy again with a moderate to fresh southerly wind developing, strong in coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 13 or 14 degrees. Cloudy and breezy with rain moving eastwards across the country. Becoming drier and calmer in western areas overnight as the rain clears. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds, becoming light to moderate westerly over the western half of the country by morning.”
Friday: “The cloud and rain will gradually clear from the east on Friday morning, leaving dry and bright conditions for most. However, more cloud will move in from the south during the afternoon and evening, possibly bringing a few showers. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with moderate to fresh southerly winds in the east at first, but otherwise winds will be light and variable. There is uncertainty in the forecast from Friday night but there are indications that it will be cloudy with rain moving in from the south to some areas. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees, coldest in the north, with light and variable winds.”
