It will be a great boost for the town
Welcome inside Galway’s newest bar The Ledger which has had its first official weekend open.
The new pub, located in Gort, opened its doors on Friday to much excitement from the locals who came in their droves to support the business.
Not only is the inside of this new bar fabulous but it also has huge outdoor space accommodating for large numbers.

As one new business opens though, another one is sadly closing.
It is being described as the “end of an era” for one Galway town after their local business announced they were closing permanently after 30 years.
The Hair Gallery in Ballinasloe informed clients that they will be shutting their shop at the end of the month after three decades serving the community.
The Dunlo Street establishment thanked all its customers saying that it was a “difficult decision to make” but ultimately the right one.
They said: “This notice is with a heavy heart and after a lot of thought, the difficult decision had to be made to close The Hair Gallery on the 28th August permanently.
This is so regrettable after 30 years. This is the end of another era and the start of new chapters for us all.
“To you our incredible customers, thank you. Your support has meant so much to us and our families with your custom and trust in us.
“We are forever grateful to you all for this, the support through all. The good times, the celebrations, milestones, new babies welcomed, exams passed, weddings, graduations and many many laughs we've had.
“Then life can bring sad times also and tears with losing loved ones, your kindness and thoughtfulness helped us get through them.
“The little pick me up treats, your advice on so many matters, we became family and good friends. You will be forever treasured and we are grateful for you in our lives. I believe we are all the better for knowing you.
They continued: “To the amazing staff, The Hair Gallery would not be here or have survived this long without you.
“Your passion to create the lovely styles, your hard work, your honed skills and hearty welcome with dedication to look after your clients with a smile and a good sense of humour at all times.
“All this has made it a pleasure to be part of this great team, even the ladies who have left for new careers and chapters in their lives.”
They finished off by saying a “massive thank you” to one person in particular.
“We need to give Josi a special thank you for her outstanding 30 years of looking after us all. We wish Josi well in retirement now, most of all good health and enjoy this time.
“There is three weeks left before before our closing date the 28th August, we would love to see you before we leave.”
