Referee appointed for Galway's clash with Dublin in All-Ireland SFC quarter final

DAVID GOUGH will be the man in the middle this weekend as the Meath native takes charge of Galway’s clash with Dublin in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship quarter-final.
Gough has refereed plenty of clashes throughout this year’s championship which has included Donegal and Cork, Roscommon and Tyrone and the Division One league final between Donegal and Kerry.
The Meath native also refereed the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship clash between Galway and Dublin last year. Tickets went on sale this afternoon on Ticketmaster for Galway’s clash with Dublin on Sunday at 4pm in Croke Park. It will form part of a double header with Louth and Monaghan throwing in at 1:45pm. Both games will be broadcast live on RTE Two.
The Galway senior footballers aim since the start of the year has been to get back to Croke Park, now Padraic Joyce’s side prepare for their first knockout clash of the year in GAA headquarters.
Having slipped up last year against Meath in the All-Ireland quarter-final, Galway now have a chance this weekend to go one step further than last year and put themselves in the frame for All-Ireland honours at the end of July.
This will be the third meeting in championship action between Galway and Dublin in the past three seasons. Galway edged past Dublin in the 2024 All-Ireland quarter-final marking their first victory over the Boys and Blue in over 90 years in championship action. Dublin defeated Galway during the group stages of last year's All-Ireland SFC.
Cork and Mayo meet on Saturday in the All-Ireland quarter-final on Saturday at 4pm, while Kerry face Tyrone at 6:15pm. Both quarter-finals take place in Croke Park and both fixtures will be broadcast live on GAA+
