A fundraising night held at Warde’s pub in Claremorris has raised an incredible €86,699.54 in memory of Greg and Natasha Warde.
The Warde family confirmed the final total after handing over a cheque for €61,699.54 to Mayo Roscommon Hospice on Sunday, October 18.
The cheque was presented to Martina Jennings at a gathering outside Warde’s pub, where family and supporters came together to mark the occasion.
A further €25,000 will be donated to the Oncology Department at Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar, in recognition of the care provided to Greg and Natasha.
The family said they were overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness shown by everyone who supported the fundraiser.
Funds were raised through raffle tickets, an auction and donations from the local community and beyond.
In a message of thanks, the Warde family said they could not thank everyone individually but wanted supporters to know how much their generosity meant to them.
They added that they hoped the donations would make a real difference to other patients and families facing difficult circumstances.
The family expressed their heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort in memory of Greg and Natasha.
