The searches took place on October 14 as part of Operation Tara, an ongoing investigation targeting an organised crime group suspected of selling and supplying illegal vapes and cannabis products nationwide.

Properties in Mayo, Longford, Roscommon, Wexford and Carlow were searched by more than 100 Gardaí attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, national specialist units and local Garda units.

In addition to the illegal products, Gardaí seized more than €235,000 in cash, £3,000 sterling, $3,500 US dollars and a number of high-value vehicles.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

The seized products are to be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis, while investigations remain ongoing.
