John Grady
Kinnegha, Tooreen
THE recent death of John Grady, Kinnegha, Tooreen, evoked widespread sadness in the local area. John (68) had been coping with an illness for some time.
John was highly regarded and well liked around the Tooreen region. He met his wife Ann, a native of Tyrone, while they were both working in Birmingham. They enjoyed their years over in England before returning to Mayo and settling in Tooreen.
John worked for a number of years with Murphy’s Grasscare enterprise at Coolnaha, Ballyhaunis. He later took care of the family farm at Kinnegha and had a strong affinity with farming and the land.
A good and kind neighbour, John was always there to lend a helping hand when the need arose. Friends spoke highly of him and held him in special regard. He will be sadly missed by Ann and the family. Peace to his gentle soul.
A wake was held in the family home and removal took place from the house to St Mary’s Church, Tooreen, with interment in Aghamore Cemetery following the celebration of Requiem Mass.
He is survived by his wife Ann, sons Declan (Tipperary) and Dean (Fermanagh), his daughter Amanda who lives in Italy, his sister Bernadette (Fermanagh), the family circle, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace.
