Mulranny Arts Centre celebrated the official opening of its new Metals and Jewellery Studio on June 21

Friends and supporters of the Mulranny Arts Centre gathered on Saturday, June 21 for the official opening of its new Metals & Jewellery Studio.

The new studio features ten fully equipped professional jewellers' benches as well as industry-standard tools and machinery suitable for everyone from complete beginners to advanced makers.

The Metals & Jewellery Studio was designed to host jewellery, silversmithing and metalworking workshops.

The ribbon was officially cut by famous Irish master goldsmith Nigel O’Reilly, who shared insights from his careers to the guests.

The goldsmith presence at the opening ceremony was especially meaningful for the centre as it aims at inspiring the next generation of jewellery makers and metal artists on the Wild Atlantic Way.

"We are incredibly proud to open this beautiful new studio," said Cheryl Cobern Browne, Founder and Mission Director of Mulranny Arts.

"It represents another important step in our vision of creating world-class creative facilities in the west of Ireland, while providing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to learn, create and connect through the arts," she added.

With its Metals &Jewellery Studio, Mulranny Arts Centre is excited to welcome people from Mayo and beyond who want to experience the new space.

The opening of the studio marks another exciting milestone in the development of the Mulranny Arts Centre as a hotspot for arts education and culture in Mayo.
