Mayo Ideas Month 2026 programme gets underway

The programme includes a range of events focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, skills, business development and idea generation, with registration now open for the events at www.mayoideasmonth.ie.
Mayo’s flagship business support programme, Mayo Ideas Month, has launched its 2026 programme, with a month-long series of events planned for businesses and entrepreneurs across the county.
The programme was launched at Ballinrobe Racecourse, home of the long-established Meet Mayo business networking event.
Mayo Ideas Month runs from October 7 to November 6, bringing together a programme of events focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, skills, business development and idea generation.
Events will be hosted at venues around the county and are aimed at businesses at different stages of development, from start-ups and early-stage enterprises to established and growing companies.
John Magee, Head of Enterprise with Local Enterprise Office Mayo, said the programme had been designed to provide practical support to businesses across the county.
“Each is relevant, timely and presented by experts in the field. I urge every business owner in Mayo to check the programme and reserve their place today,” he said.
The programme includes Mayo Impact – Connect, Market, Increase Income, a full-day event on October 9 focused on helping social enterprises increase their impact and improve their financial sustainability.
On October 14, The Confidence to Grow will explore the issue of self-doubt among entrepreneurs at a lunchtime event in Foxford Woollen Mills.
The two-day West x West tech, venture and cultural festival gets underway at The Royal Theatre in Castlebar on October 15.
A workshop on Building Skills Capability in SMEs will take place at the McWilliam Park Hotel in Claremorris on October 21, focusing on skills development within small and medium-sized businesses.
The county’s business community will also come together for Meet Mayo at Ballinrobe Racecourse on October 23. The event combines business networking with an expo and provides an opportunity for businesses to connect with others from across the county.
On October 28, Pathway to Innovate will host its Data2Sustain Lunch & Learn at The Leeson Centre in Westport from 12 noon.
The programme will conclude on November 6 with the Mayo Business Awards, which will take place this year at the Erris Coast Hotel in Geesala.
Mayo Ideas Month is organised by enterprise development agencies and organisations operating across the county, including Local Enterprise Office Mayo, Enterprise Ireland, Údarás na Gaeltachta, WestBIC, ATU iHUB Mayo, South West Mayo Development Company, Mayo North East Leader Partnership, MSLETB, Western Development and Regional Skills West.
Registration is now open for the events, with the full programme available at www.mayoideasmonth.ie.
